Switzerland-based minicoach and minibus supplier Rogus AG is looking to bring its Nimbus 2025 extended mini vehicle conversion based on an uprated and extended Mercedes-Benz Sprinter to the UK market in right-hand drive form.
The product is described as a “one bus fits all” concept by the supplier. It has a 700mm wheelbase extension to the OEM L4H2 panel van to give an overall 5,025mm between axles.
Rogus says that in minicoach format the Nimbus 2025 can carry up to 23 passengers with three cubic metres of luggage capacity, or up to eight wheelchair users with an accessible minibus layout. The supplier also claims that a 32-seat school bus format is possible.
For minicoaches, further options of tables, a compact kitchen or a toilet module are cited by the builder, which is located in Monthey to the south-west of the country.
The supplier says it is currently searching for an appropriate dealership to handle supply of the Nimbus 2025 to the UK. Wheelbase extension work is carried out in the Netherlands and interior conversion is handled in Switzerland, director Robin Verachtert tells routeone.
He notes how the base vehicle’s GVW is raised to 6,100kg as part of the production process. Mr Verachtert adds that the Nimbus 2025 is “one of the most versatile minibuses in its class” and that both standard 4×2 and all-wheel 4×4 drive configurations are available. The Sprinter base vehicle in its 519CDI configuration is utilised.
A Mercedes-Benz warranty still applies to what is termed the basic van as supplied, but separate coverage of the wheelbase extension and the interior conversion is provided by Rogus. That extends for three years or 100,000km.
