Our annual charity golf day has come and gone and once again it has been a resounding success both and off the course.
With final donations yet to come, we estimate we will have raised somewhere in the region of £13,500 which will all go to research into the cause and treatment of FSHD Muscular Dystrophy.
Thank you for the support of all those who attended.
When our daughter Kate, was first diagnosed, some ten years ago, they didn’t even know what caused her condition to occur.
By early next year there will be several research companies undertaking human trials of compounds designed to limit the disease progression and reverse the effects of the condition.
All of this has only been possible because of monies being piled into research, monies which have been raised at events such as our golf day.
The picture is of the winning team – Andrew Dearden, Chris Deas, David Halstead and Nigel Bratton from Nottingham Express Transit.
The team won with an impressive 89 points, which included an eagle two on the par four 9th hole and a birdie on the 18th.
