The Freight Transport Association (FTA), incorporating its passenger section, has launched an online guide called Brake Test Report.
It aims to decipher brake test reports, which has proven to be difficult for Transport Managers without an engineering background. Although they may indicate a pass, there could still be issues present.
The FTA publication helps readers to understand how brake performance is calculated. It also allows operators to ensure that brake testing complements their preventative maintenance inspections and that brakes are in full working order.
