Elcock Reisen has taken a delivery of a batch of 13 Mercedes-Benz Tourismo Access coaches, believed to be the largest single order yet for the model. The new Tourismos are supplied by Mercedes-Benz Coach Sales at EvoBus (UK).
The delivery represents an investment of £2.3m, the biggest commitment the Telford operator has made to a single brand.
The fully PSVAR compliant coaches are all 12 metres in length, with four seating 55 and the remainder 53. Some models are equipped with centre toilets.
Each vehicle comes equipped with the OMNIplus ON advance preventative maintenance system, which minimises downtime through the use of onboard telematics and real-time vehicle condition reporting.
To further enhance safety, each vehicle will also be equipped with Active Brake Assist 4, while each cabin is installed with active filters featuring an anti-viral layer within the air conditioning system.
Commenting on the delivery, Phil Cowdery, Area Sales Manager at EvoBus (UK), says: “We appreciate the significant amount of trust Elcock Reisen has placed in our coach product and business – especially as newcomers to the Mercedes-Benz brand. We are confident the Tourismos will exceed expectations all-round.”
Says Nick Prince, Transport Director at Elcock Reisen: “We are confident these vehicles
put our business in a strong position within what is a very competitive and rejuvenated market post-pandemic.”
Adds Wyn Stevens, Managing Director of Elcock Reisen: “With all the new vehicles being fully PSVAR compliant we believe we have futureproofed our business. We are already seeing the benefits that accessible vehicles can bring.”
