PHVC has delivered what it says is the first 15-seat Ford E-Transit battery-electric minibus for a customer in the UK. The vehicle has been supplied to The White House – Curdridge in Hampshire through a partnership that also involves GowringsVersa Mobility and Ford UK.
PHVC describes the 15-seat Ford E-Transit minibus as “a significant step forward” in the move to sustainable transport. While other 15-seat E-Transits have been completed, that for The White House is the first handed over to a customer, PHVC continues.
Adds Managing Director Paul Huxford: “We are delighted to be the first to deliver the all-new, fully electric Ford 15-seater to The White House. This vehicle represents the future of transportation, and we are proud to be at the forefront of the transition to sustainable transport in the UK.”
The vehicle has 68kW/h of usable battery capacity with a claimed range of between 166 and 196 miles. It can be charged via an 11kW AC onboard unit or a 115kW DC rapid charger and comes with a 62mph road speed limiter along with semi-automatic dash air conditioning and a reversing camera. Normal, slippery and eco driving modes can be selected.
PHVC says that customers in the commercial, education and community sectors have “eagerly awaited” the 15-seat E-Transit’s arrival. It comes with technology including an advanced driveline, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning and automatic emergency braking.
The White House is a country home where people with dementia are cared for. PHVC has a long-term relationship with the customer. The E-Transit will be used to transport residents to and from The White House, as well as for off-site events and excursions.
