Free National Express travel for those affected by wildfires

National Express is to offer free coach travel to holidaymakers repatriated from Greece to a different airport from which they flew out due to the wildfires in the country.

The operator will transport both passengers and, if they have it, their luggage back to their original airport or a different scheduled destination of their choice within the UK.

Wildfires on the islands of Corfu, Evia and Rhodes have left thousands of British holidaymakers needing to be evacuated, with many airlines putting on extra flights in response.

Managing Director of National Express Coach, Chris Hardy, says: “We’ve all seen the horrifying experiences people have had in the Greek wildfires on the news. This is the least we can do to help them get back home. National Express is proud to step up in these national moments to help people get home.”

In order to gain a free coach ticket, repatriated passengers will need show proof of their original flight and the boarding pass of the flight they took.

National Express will also allow those already booked on to one of their 1800 daily services to travel at a different time, subject to availability, if their onward travel plans have been impacted by the events in Greece.
