Stagecoach Merseyside and South Lancashire has introduced free Wi-Fi on all its buses across the Wirral.
It follows service upgrades in Liverpool last year, where Stagecoach introduced 32 luxury buses with Wi-Fi across a number of routes.
With large leather seats and tinted windows for temperature and light control, high-speed Wi-Fi and USB points, they are on routes 82 and 86 routes (Liverpool, Wavertree, Aigburth and Garston) and 14 (Liverpool, Anfield and Croxteth).
Rob Jones, MD Stagecoach Merseyside and South Lancashire, says: “It’s no secret that we are quickly becoming a ‘smart phone generation’, so the addition of free Wi-Fi could transform bus journeys for our passengers.
“It might give commuters a chance to catch up on emails before their busy day begins or even provide an opportunity for passengers to switch off by catching up on their favourite TV show.
“Our high-spec vehicles offer comfort as well as good value for money and we continuously develop our service to ensure we remain in tune with what our passengers want.”
Stagecoach Merseyside and South Lancashire has 1,200 staff and 400 vehicles serving 42m customers a year.
