23 new Wrightbus Eclipse Gemini 3 double-deckers are on B5TL chassis

Translink Metro is currently taking delivery of 23 Eclipse Gemini 3-bodied Volvo B5TL double-deckers for service in Belfast, supplied by Wrightbus (02825 641212).

They are 10.6m buses that have space for 90 passengers and all include an 11-camera CCTV system and an internal PA.

Additionally, they also have Wrightbus’ recently-unveiled glazed upper deck A-pillars and a low bridge warning system.

Says General Manager, Engineering Ian Campbell: “This new fleet is more efficient and more environmentally friendly, with much lower emissions.

“Both are good news for Belfast, helping to improve the overall air quality and providing a healthier environment for all. This fleet enhancement is part of our ongoing developments as we transform public transport into the first choice.”
