Transdev Blazefield Pride bus a ‘standard bearer for diversity’

Transdev Blazefield has debuted a Pride livery adaptation on a double-decker that the bus operator says is a “standard bearer for diversity.”

The scheme is a development of the operator’s established Pride of the North application. It highlights Transdev Blazefield’s support for the LGBTQ+ community and made its first public appearance at the York Pride event on Saturday 1 June.

A parade there was led by an open-top York Sightseeing double-decker from the Transdev Blazefield fleet, with the Pride-liveried Volvo B9TL at the other end of the procession.

Project and Marketing Manager Matt Burley notes that the livery has been created in-house by designer Ashlie Minasian to promote diversity among customers, colleagues and communities.

Four members of the Transdev Blazefield team are featured on the back of the Pride bus: Training Manager Dale French and drivers Carly Broadley, Chris Marsden, and Sarah Stevenson.

“Our Pride bus will be out and about across the North throughout June, which is designated as Pride Month across the country to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and get the message across that everyone is welcome on our buses,” continues Mr Burley.

“We are proud to support diversity in our communities, and to celebrate the fact that our colleagues and customers can be confident as the people they want to be, with respect for everyone. The Pride bus is our way of taking that message to thousands of people across the North.”

First passenger-carrying use of the Pride bus is with Yorkshire Coastliner, where it will be occupied on routes from Leeds and York to Scarborough and Whitby.
