The Coach Tourism Association (CTA) has added Jason Edwards Travel Managing Director Jason Edwards (pictured, above) and Daish’s Group Commercial Director Paul Harper (pictured, below) to its board of directors.

Both men are highly experienced in coach operation and coach tourism and their arrival has brought “considerable coach operator expertise to boost CTA’s work in growing business opportunities for members and promoting coach tourism,” the Association says.

Mr Edwards launched Jason Edwards Travel in 2023 after spending 20 years in senior positions at a large coach operator in his native South Wales. Mr Harper has two decades’ experience in tourism and has been with Daish’s for almost 10 years. He holds a Transport Manager CPC and heads the business’s coaching operation and 35 vehicles.

CTA Chair Robert Shaw has welcomed the two newcomers. “The addition of Jason Edwards and Paul Harper to the CTA board brings great strength to the organisation,” says Mr Shaw.

“Paul and Jason are well known in our industry because of the experience, skills and capabilities they bring. They know how to create and manage successful businesses, and this knowledge will be a great asset to assist fellow CTA members.”

Mr Edwards says he is “immensely proud” to join the CTA board. It is an organisation that he can trace an involvement with back to its founder members of Joy Perrett, Margaret Palmer, Sally Andrews and Jane Dufelen, he notes.

“I have experience of managing a large coach operation, and I also understand the challenges of starting a new coach business, so I would like to bring this background to support fellow CTA members.

“Something that particularly excites me about joining the CTA board is the variety of experiences of fellow board members, who together will bring forward new ideas to promote the industry.”

Adds Mr Harper: “I have found that the tourism industry is packed full of amazing businesses and people, all of whom are committed to providing great experiences for our customers – it really is a people business.

“No two days are ever the same, and I think it is that challenge that keeps so many of us working year after year.”
