Irizar UK has secured conquest business with Ashton-in-Makerfield operator Eavesway Travel, which has placed an order with the dealership for an Irizar i8 integral that will be delivered in 2025.

It will be a 14.1m tri-axle example that carries 38 passengers. Conversion by AD Coach Systems will be carried out before entering service to equip the coach for sports team transport and corporate charter work. The seats will be trimmed in Eavesway’s customary cream leather.

The order was confirmed at Euro Bus Expo and the coach will be equipped with a camera monitoring system in place of traditional gullwing mirrors. It is the first Irizar integral coach ordered by Eavesway, although, the operator has extensive experience of the DAF/ZF driveline in other vehicles.

Speaking about the purchase, Managing Director Mike Eaves (pictured, second from left) says: “We are delighted to confirm the order of the first Irizar vehicle to join the VIP section of our fleet, and we are 100% confident that it will be an exceptional addition.

“From our first contact with Irizar UK, we have been impressed with the welcome, enthusiasm and belief in the quality of the Irizar product, which matches both our own high expectations and those of our clients.”

Irizar UK says that the latest variants of its integral coaches further reduce fuel consumption by up to 5%. The i8 will come with an updated driver’s area including a new dashboard with an option to select night mode for driving.

Adds Irizar UK Area Sales Manager Stuart Smithson (pictured, right): “We are delighted to welcome Mike and the entire Eavesway team to the Irizar family.

“As a provider of luxury travel services, we are confident that the i8 will dovetail into the Eavesway fleet well and will offer a high level of comfort and design to its passengers.”
