Hairy Haggis Coaches has put two Yutong GTe14 battery-electric tri-axle coaches into service on Scottish Citylink route M92 between Edinburgh and Aberdeen.

The Scottish Citylink network thus becomes the second scheduled coach service brand in Scotland to adopt the zero-emission model. Scottish Citylink already utilises the smaller TCe12 battery-electric coach, which is also operated on its behalf by Hairy Haggis.

Fitted to the new vehicles are 53 seats with lateral movement, three-point belts, footrests, and drop-down tables.

Wireless, USB-A and USB-C charging are also included, as is the standard GTe14 camera monitoring system in place of rear-view mirrors. Wheelchair user access is at the centre door.

Speaking about the GTe14 delivery, Scottish Citylink Managing Director Simone Walsh says: “We are delighted to be adding these vehicles to our network. Reducing the impact of our operations on the environment has always been a priority for us, and we will continue to look for opportunities to reduce our emissions as a business.

“These new vehicles deliver comfort and reliability for our customers, and we look forward to welcoming passengers onboard in the coming weeks.”

Pelican Bus and Coach has supplied the new coaches. A claimed range of 300 miles comes with the GTe14.
