Operator Ausden Clark has adopted the TruTac compliance suite and vehicle maintenance system from Microlise for its 50-strong coach fleet to cut vehicle downtime and increase performance.
That has seen the Leicester business move away from multiple older systems. The change came after a new leadership team identified that a streamlined and all-encompassing solution was required.
Operations Manager Martin Starkey led the search for the new platform. Market research and various trials were conducted before the TruTac suite was settled upon.
A successful evaluation delivered what the supplier says was “unparalleled” access to the product. TruTac gives users the latest tools to manage vehicles and team members, and at Ausden Clark, Compliance Director Darren Snape monitors drivers’ hours and infringements efficiently and with up-to-date information that informs real-time decision-making.
The operator says the system has had “a dramatic effect” on vehicle utilisation, especially by having a large screen on display in the operations office to help decisions.
Additionally, drivers can report defects via app, which immediately informs the engineering department of problems. TruTac fully integrates recorded data and streamlines scheduled vehicle inspections, reducing the number of unexpected repairs, Microlise observes.
Adds Mr Starkey: “Microlise’s comprehensive vehicle maintenance system is flexible and adaptive, so you are always in tune with what is happening in your maintenance garage. Having all the answers at your fingertips is simply excellent.”
Garage Manager Chris Arrowsmith says that the new platform has simplified communication across the engineering sphere “and massively reduced the amount of paperwork together with streamlining the way we work.”
He continues: “The process of reporting defects and repairs is uncomplicated, and the delegation of work is more practical. Undertaking PMI checks and MoTs is a much more superior experience, which has helped us to maintain our great pass rate.”
Microlise has been commended for is approach to the trial and implementation phases by Ausden Clark owner and Operations Director Adam Frost.
“Lee Oliver, Microlise Compliance Sales Director, and his whole support team were always available to provide hands-on assistance when it was needed, which helped to resolve issues promptly. We have been able to fully embrace technology thanks to Microlise.”
