Coach operators shone at the National Express Operator Awards, with Bennetts, Travelstar and Go South Coast doing particularly well.

It was the 10th anniversary of awards – hence the black ties and dinner jackets – and a champagne toast was held to celebrate the occasion, at the Windmill Hotel, Coventry.

A raffle raised £1,500 for charity Transaid, which National Express matched.

The awards included ‘Golden Spanners’, Best Fleet, Customer Experience Excellence, Driver of the Year, and Best Operators. The award recognise “sustained high achievement” by operators that have “consistently met National Express’ expectations.”

Chris Hardy, National Express Coach Managing Director says: "We have been highly impressed by the hard work, dedication, and the excellent standards demonstrated by our partner operators, they have once again exceeded expectations and each award was very well deserved.

“Our operators are the engine room of the business and their success is fundamental to the success of the company."
