Transdev Blazefield has introduced advance-purchase tickets on its Cityzap express service between York and Leeds.
A limited number of £1, one-way fares are available via the group’s Vamooz app.
They are sold for specified journeys and they are offered only on off-peak trips in a bid to attract shoppers, says CEO Alex Hornby. An adult single purchased on-bus is usually £7.
“Travelling between Leeds and York for £1 is a bargain given that an off-peak day return on the train costs £15.90,” he adds. Advance purchase one-way rail tickets are available from £3 for the same journey.
Cityzap is operated with high-specification buses that have leather seating, USB charging points and 4G wi-fi.
