Wycombe-based Carousel Buses has launched a package of initiatives to coincide with Bus Users UK’s Catch the Bus Month 2025, including free travel for school pupils, enhanced service frequencies and new passenger rewards.
From 8-12 September, students aged five to 16 will be able to travel free on selected routes in Windsor and Maidenhead simply by wearing school uniform. The scheme is funded by the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead and aims to ease costs for families at the start of term while encouraging long-term bus use among younger passengers. Eligible services link Windsor, Maidenhead, Cookham, Eton Wick and the surround communities.
The operator has also begun running its most frequent timetable to date along the A40 London Road corridor between High Wycombe and Beaconsfield, with services now operating up to every 10 minutes during the day from Monday to Saturday, and every 15 minutes on Sundays and bank holidays.
Frequencies have also been increased on routes 105 to Chesham and Chartridge, 101/104 to Uxbridge via The Chalfonts, and the 103 between Slough and Windsor. Those upgrades form part of the Buckinghamshire Council Bus Service Improvement Plan.
Carousal has also expanded its rewards programme via the BetterPoints app for Catch the Bus Month, offering daily prize draws, referral rewards and promotions linked to European Mobility Week. Prizes include a £900 European city break.
Comments Luke Marion, Managing Director of Carousel Buses: “Catch The Bus Month is a great initiative and one we’re proud to support through our new initiatives to get more people onboard our services this September and ongoing.
“Every bus trip taken contributes towards building a more sustainable future. It also sends a powerful message to decision-makers about the importance of an accessible and reliable public transport network.”
