Shiel Buses has amplified its presence in the Scottish Highlands with the procurement of two additional Enviro200s from Alexander Dennis (ADL).
The recently acquired low-emission buses, each measuring 9.7m long, feature interiors with wood-effect flooring and 34 seats finished with a custom moquette. The buses are also equipped with USB charging points. The new additions follow earlier acquisitions of Enviro200s in lengths of 8.9m, 9.7m, and 10.8m.
Shiel Buses, also recognised as Busaichean Seile in Gaelic, has provided crucial transport services in the Fort William area and throughout Lochaber for over 45 years. The company operates around 50 vehicles, nearly one-fifth of which are ADL Enviro200 single-deckers.
Retail Sales Director at Alexander Dennis, Charlie Miller, officially handed over the buses, and expressed his delight at the continuing partnership with Shiel Buses. He says: “This latest Enviro200 delivery to Shiel Buses reinforces our strong relationship with this fantastic family business. The Enviro200 range offers the perfect vehicle size for different routes in the stunning surroundings of Lochaber, coupled with the benefits of a common fleet. Our AD24 aftermarket team further enhances the value we deliver to Shiel Buses.”
Managing Director of Shiel Buses, David MacGillivray, acknowledges the immense value the partnership brings to his company: “With Alexander Dennis, we feel valued and understand that our business needs are taken into account.
“Coupled with the great support from AD24, the investment in Enviro200 buses is set to yield benefits swiftly.”
