Stagecoach Manchester has been named the latest member of the Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter, a voluntary initiative aimed at raising employment standards across the region.
The Good Employment Charter evaluates organisations against seven key principles: Secure work, fair pay, employee engagement, flexible working, workplace wellbeing, inclusion, and workforce development. By becoming a member, Stagecoach joins a network of employers striving to create “a fairer, more sustainable economy”.
Rob Jones, Managing Director of Stagecoach Manchester, says: “We are delighted to have our commitment to delivering high standards of employment recognised in Greater Manchester through our Good Employment Charter membership.
“We are extremely proud of our inclusive and supportive culture and believe this is fantastic for our employees as it demonstrates our dedication to continually improving our employee offering including pay and conditions, employee voice, health and wellbeing.”
The Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter supports organisations with resources and guidance to enhance their employment practices and Stagecoach sees the partnership as an opportunity to further strengthen its employee-focused initiatives.
Tracey Smyth, Head of People and Talent for Stagecoach Manchester, adds: “Becoming a member of the Good Employment Charter is a brilliant achievement and testament to the fantastic work our entire team do day-in day-out for the people of Greater Manchester. The charter is perfectly aligned to our own business values and ethos, and we’re thrilled to be recognised.
“We relish the opportunity to work and engage with the charter further to continually evolve our employee proposition for the future.”
