FlixBus UK celebrated its fifth anniversary with an industry reception in London on 16 April, bringing together operator partners, suppliers and senior figures from across the coach sector to reflect on the brand’s growth since launching in Britain in 2021.

Held at art’otel Hoxton, the evening event featured speeches from Flix co-founder and Chief Executive André Schwämmlein, outgoing Vice President of West Europe for FlixBus Andreas Schörling, and incoming Managing Director for FlixBus UK Shamil Maindiratta.

Guests included FlixBus UK’s operator partners, its UK team, representatives from the Confederation of Passenger Transport, the Road Haulage Association, and OEM representatives from across the coach and bus supply chain.

As well as being a celebration of the brand’s expansion, the reception reaffirmed a statement of intent for FlixBus’ ongoing ambitions in the UK market, where it continues to position itself as a challenger brand in scheduled coach travel.

“Celebrating our 5th anniversary in style, surrounded by the best of the coach industry, was truly special,” says Ms Maindiratta. “We reflected on the impact Flix has as a global travel brand, hypergrowth achieved so far in the UK and our ambition to build a network that stands for decades to come. There is no doubt that we have everything we need to build the UK’s largest coach network, combined with energy and passion across our partner network to deliver exceptional passenger experience.”
