The 12.8m Volvo B8R-based Plaxton Panther for Abbey Coaches seats 57

Thornliebank-based operator Abbey Coaches has taken delivery of a Volvo B8R with Panther bodywork, supplied by Plaxton (01909 551166).

The 12.8m coach has 57 part-leather seats along with a centre demountable toilet, a fridge, a comprehensive entertainment system, a reversing camera and CCTV.

It joins a number of other Plaxton-bodied vehicles in Abbey Coaches’ fleet. Says Director Graeme Walker: “Our relationship with Plaxton goes back 20 years and we are delighted with our latest acquisition.

“It can tackle a whole range of jobs and it is ideal for the wide variety of services that we supply.”

Power in the coach is from Volvo’s 7.7-litre D8K engine coupled to an I-Shift automated manual gearbox. It will be used on a variety of work.
