Aintree Coachline has taken delivery of an Irizar i6S Efficient integral. The coach was supplied by Irizar UK as the Merseyside operator’s second integral from the Spanish marque, and it will be followed by a third in May 2024.
The new arrival is a 12.9m, two-axle model with a rear-view camera system in lieu of mirrors. It is finished in the distinctive Aintree Coachline red livery and has 55 i6 Plus seats along with PSVAR compliance.
To that end, a Masats KS7 lift is fitted behind the front axle along with Hanover destination displays. Four seats have a Tecam quick-release system and can be removed to create space for a wheelchair user.
Other aspects of the specification include USB charging points, three-point seatbelts, a centre sunken toilet and a Bosch Smart Series audio-visual system that feeds to twin monitors. Power is from the DAF MX-11 engine developing 408bhp driving through a ZF EcoLife automatic gearbox.
Aintree Coachline Managing Director John Cherry says: “I always feel that dealing with the sales team at Irizar is a great experience, from specifying and ordering a new vehicle to the actual delivery and handover.
“Our latest i6S is the best ever, and it has convinced us to order another for 2024, making our coach fleet 100% Irizar.” Next year’s delivery will be a 14m, tri-axle i6S Efficient integral.
