Apple Travel of White Waltham has taken delivery of a Volvo B8R with PSVAR compliant Plaxton Leopard bodywork, supplied by Alexander Dennis.
It joins existing examples of the Volvo/Plaxton combination in the Berkshire fleet, including four Leopards and a B8R with Panther bodywork delivered in 2021. The new coach has 72 seats in a 3+2 arrangement, which the supplier says gives “plenty of capacity for school transport and hires.”
Speaking about the latest purchase, Apple Travel Transport Manager Chris Pusey says: “We provide our school clients with a safe and modern fleet and we pride ourselves on regular investment.
“The Plaxton Leopard offers us the best choice for a high-capacity, accessible coach that is reliable to run and holds its value well.”
Adds Alexander Dennis Regional Sales Manager Mark Taylor: “When it comes to versatile coaches with high capacity and great flexibility to adapt to different uses in later life, there is nothing like the Plaxton Leopard.
“It has been a pleasure to continue the business relationship with Sam and Chris and I am delighted that they continue to support British coach manufacturing with the latest addition to their fleet.”
A lift is fitted immediately ahead of the drive axle and the new Plaxton is set off by a cherished registration mark denoting the Apple Travel name.
