Barnes Coaches has added a further Irizar i6 integral, supplied by Irizar UK. It is the 12th integral coach from the Spanish manufacturer to join the Swindon operator since 2015.
The newcomer is a 14m tri-axle with 61 seats that are trimmed in moquette and which have synthetic leather inserts. Each position also has a magazine net, a drop-down table, a footrest and a USB charging point.
Leather driver and courier seats have been specified and the coach has an onboard vacuum cleaner. It also comes with a Bosch Smart Series audio-visual system and an Actia DVD player along with two monitors, a centre toilet, and a drinks machine.
Finished in the distinctive Barnes Coaches mint green livery and with vinyls applied at the factory, the new integral is powered by a DAF MX-11 engine developing 449bhp driving through a ZF EcoLife automatic gearbox.
Speaking about the delivery, Director Luke Barnes says: “As always, Irizar UK is a pleasure to deal with, so we were more than happy to place this order.
“The 14 metre i6 offers exceptional passenger comfort and it has the added benefit of cavernous luggage lockers, which can be a huge bonus when purchasing a coach to seat 61 passengers. The coach will predominantly be used on European touring work, but it will also be used on our private hire and corporate work closer to home.”
Among earlier Irizar integral deliveries to Barnes Coaches was an i6S in early 2020 that was treated to a historic livery in recognition of the operator’s centenary.
