Further Wrightbus Streetdeck joins Thames Travel

Wrightbus StreetDeck for Thames Travel

Thames Travel has added a further Wrightbus StreetDeck to its fleet. The diesel-powered bus represents an investment of £250,000 and it will be used on routes serving the Milton Park science and technology development in Oxfordshire, for which it carries Connector branding.

Bus modal share for people travelling to and from Milton Park was recently recorded as having seen 12% growth. That has come with a series of initiatives to promote services via a partnership between the operator, sister business Oxford Bus Company, and Milton Park.

The new StreetDeck has USB and wireless charging provision along with high-backed seating. Wi-fi is also fitted.

Says Thames Travel Managing Director Luke Marion: “This substantial investment represents further progress in our commitment to introduce more sustainable modes of transport.

“The growth in bus passenger numbers on our network serving Milton Park is an excellent success story that shows what can be achieved via partnerships and a shared vision.” Almost 75% of the Thames Travel fleet is now Euro VI compliant.
