Sargeants Bros of Kington has taken delivery of a further five Alexander Dennis Enviro200 buses, all at 8.9m and with 30 seats.
They have been put to work from the operator’s new depot in Hereford, which opened on 13 April. Investment in fleet and facilities is given as being part of the business’s commitment to delivering a high-quality service to users.
Of the new buses, every fixed seat has a three-point belt. They follow other Enviro200s into the fleet, with Managing Director Matt Evans noting how Alexander Dennis has been the operator’s go-to marque since its previous supplier stopped servicing the UK market.
“We initially chose the Enviro200 because of its suitability for the local country roads, but we are generally very happy with the Alexander Dennis product, and especially impressed with the fuel figures on the Enviro200,” he continues.
“While sales sold the first vehicle, it is true to say that aftersales have sold the vehicles thereafter, with exceptional aftercare service levels. It is a pleasure to be making this significant investment in the Sargeants fleet as part of our desire and clear vision to achieve a better local service network.”
Mr Evans purchased Sargeants Bros from Michael Sargeant, grandson of its founder, in 2019. He has since quadrupled the size of its fleet to 45 thanks a larger network of tendered and commercial services and significant investment. He also owns a successful commercial vehicle dealership founded in 2004.
Speaking about the latest procurement, Alexander Dennis Regional Sales Manager Simon Wood says: “Congratulations to Matt, Kerrie and the team at Sargeants on their stunning fleet upgrade.
“It is always great to see a new customer become a repeat customer, especially a traditional, independent British operator making such impressive strides forward. We are delighted by the success Sargeants Bros has had with its Enviro200 buses so far. Thanks so much for investing in Alexander Dennis.”
