A further VDL Futura FHD2 has joined Stanley Travel, supplied by VDL Bus and Coach UK. It is the fleet’s fourth VDL, having followed a similar coach that went to the operator in 2021, and was ordered to celebrate the North East business’s 60th anniversary.
The 12.9m, two-axle coach complies with PSVAR and its specification includes a PLS lift over the drive axle. It has been returned to the VDL factory in the Netherlands for conversion work to be carried out.
Fitted are 57 VDL Class 300 seats with Top Luxe upholstery, three-point belts and USB charging points along with a centre sunken toilet and a Bosch entertainment system. Seating capacity reduces to 53 when a wheelchair user is carried.
Stanley Travel’s customary orange-painted wheel hubs are included and the coach also has an 830-litre fuel tank over the front axle. Power is from a DAF MX-11 engine developing 370bhp.
