Uno has put its five Volvo B8L tri-axle double-deckers with MCV EvoSeti bodywork into service on route X10 between Hatfield and Luton.
The 98-seaters carry de Havilland Express branding for the service and were unveiled during the University of Hertfordshire’s recent Freshers Fair. Service entry of the buses represents a significant uplift in capacity for the X10.
A bespoke specification has been incorporated and the buses carry a version of Uno’s livery that has been worked over by design agency Best Impressions. Power is from the D8K engine developing 350bhp driving through a ZF EcoLife gearbox.
Speaking about the debut of the Volvo B8L fleet, Uno Managing Director Jim Thorpe says: “Freshers is always a great time of year for the university, and for us, it is always a pleasure to welcome students to their new home during their studies. Being able to coincide the celebration with the introduction of our new Volvos is even better this year!”
Mr Thorpe adds that Volvo has been highly supportive of the procurement throughout that process and that comprehensive aftermarket support will be provided. “These new vehicles enhance our ability to provide safe and reliable transport for our students, which is our top priority,” he concludes.
