Union RMT is calling for local bus drivers' driving hours to be brought in line with coach drivers'.
It is backing a private member's bill for breaks of 45 minutes after 4.5 hours, and hours capped at 90 a fortnight.
It comes after the fatal Coventry bus crash in 2015. The driver had worked 70 hours the week before the crash.
