Metrobus in Crawley has taken delivery of 10 Wrightbus Micro Hybrid StreetLites, worth £1.7m.

With stop-start technology, the buses’ emissions are further reduced through no idling, and fuel use is cut by 10%.

They have free wi-fi and USB charging points at every seat, plus infotainment TV screens showing route and service information.

Metrobus’ Commercial Director Nick Hill says: “We’ve been taking practical steps to address climate change and improve air quality locally, cutting our fossil fuel consumption and reducing our carbon emissions, by investing millions in very low emissions buses like these ones.

“But they’re not just cleaner, they’re also more comfortable and convenient for our passengers.”
