Irish operator Aircoach has returned to Volvo for the fifth time in three years taking its majority Volvo fleet up to 39, with the latest delivery of seven B11R Plaxton Panthers.
The FirstGroup subsidiary has added seven 53-seat, full executive vehicles to its fleet.
The coaches are earmarked for its non-stop express service from Belfast to Dublin airport and Dublin city centre, operating 22 times per day.
Says Aircoach MD Allen Parker: “We bought our first B11R in 2014 and have since added a further 32 Volvos, with this new order taking the total up to 39.
“The vehicles are popular with drivers, and the reliability we know we can expect from Volvo and Plaxton helps us provide a quality service to our customers.
“We receive excellent support and advice from Volvo and our Coach Sales Manager, David Porter, and the team at Plaxton lead by Commercial Manager Coach Mark Ballam. They both understand our requirements and those of our passengers perfectly, and this has made the purchasing process seamless.”
Adds Mr Ballam: “Aircoach’s choice of the Panther reflects the versatile nature of this model, which is equally at home on city-to-airport transfers in Dublin as it is on non-stop express services.”
Aircoach runs high-frequency, quality scheduled coach services connecting Dublin Airport with Dublin City Centre and its suburbs, as well as non-stop express services connecting Dublin Airport with both Cork and Belfast.
Aircoach also operates all staff and car park shuttle bus services at Dublin Airport and provides private hire.
