Operators throughout Tyne and Wear, Northumberland, County Durham and the Tees Valley have pulled together to enable ticket validity on any bus.
The region’s main operators are running on emergency timetables due to impact on demand caused by the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic. To help passengers travel for essentials under current government advice, all return, day and season tickets will be valid on all operators on the ticket’s route or fare zone.
Martijn Gilbert, Chair of NEBus, says: “The current stay at home advice means demand for bus services is down by nearly 90%, but keeping services running for all communities is critical for the travel needs of many key workers and those needing to access essential shopping and healthcar
