Stagecoach has been named as Britain’s top public transport company for diversity and inclusion by the Britain’s Most Admired Companies (BMAC) survey 2019.
It cites success down to improvements in female representation in its graduate scheme, more women in senior positions and investment in apprenticeships to attract young people into the public transport sector.
In September the company also signed a diversity and inclusion pledge, committing to a culture of safe and quality services for its customers and communities.
Says Clare Burles, People Director for Stagecoach: “We’re proud to have been recognised by our peers and other stakeholders for our focus on diversity and inclusion across our business.
“Having a diverse and inclusive workforce is fundamental to our success. We’ve taken some big steps forward in the past year, but we know we have lot more to do.”
