Deputy Traffic Commissioner John Baker refused to return four impounded vehicles when granting an O-Licence to Claremont School of Ebdens Hill, St Leonards on Sea.
The vehicles were impounded by DVSA on 6 December 2018 because they were being used for hire and reward with no O-Licence.
The school applied for their return on the grounds that it did not know that they were being used in contravention of the law.
School management had not realised that, when warned about what it was doing, transport activities must stop until compliance was achieved.
The school’s Transport Manager accepted the decision to impound the vehicles.
