Electrification specialist Equipmake has announced Dr Nicholas Moelders as its new Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director.
Dr Moelders will replace James Bishop, who has stepped down from his position as Chief Operating Officer with the Norfolk-based business, which has been among the pioneers of converting diesel coaches and buses to battery-electric.
He will work out of the United States across Equipmake’s international operations, which stretch across the coach and bus industry, as well as the general automotive and aerospace fields.
Dr Moelders held key leadership roles for the last seven years at Sensata Technologies, a $3.8 billion which develops electrification products and power conversion solutions. Prior to that, he was Vice President, Product Management and Development, for Inventus Power.
Ian Foley, CEO of Equipmake, says: “Nicholas is a pre-eminent figure in the electrification industry and I am delighted to announce his appointment as Chief Operating Officer.
“He brings with him over two decades of experience in the sector and importantly, given his expertise and global network, will further support Equipmake’s expansion plans, targeting key electrification markets, including within the United States.
“Furthermore, his presence as an executive director on the board is intended to provide further high-level support and strategic insights as Equipmake continues to deliver on its ambitious growth strategy.”
Among Equipmake’s work has been an all-electric repower of a New Routemaster and conversion of Van Hool T917 coach to electric.
