The Geffrye Museum in London is to close for two years in January.
The Hackney museum of the home is undergoing an £18m development project called Unlocking the Geffrye, which will involve the main museum building and period gardens closing on 7 January.
The museum says: “There will still be plenty of reasons to come to the Geffrye. Throughout closure we will run events and activities in our front gardens. The restored almshouse will also be open for tours on certain dates throughout the year.”
