Golden Tours takes eight coaches from Volvo

London-based Golden Tours has taken delivery of eight Volvo coaches.

The new vehicles are all built on Volvo’s B11R chassis, and are some of the first with all-new MCV bodywork.

The coaches will be used on the London operator’s city tours and day trips to other parts of the UK.

Each vehicle has 53 premium seats with leather side and headrest trims, tray back tables, individual USB sockets and footrests.

They each also have Sutrak air conditioning, a centre sunken demountable toilet, Bosch DAB digital radio and bespoke 19” front and centre TVs.

Golden Tours has ordered more than 30 vehicles from Volvo in the last three years, including 20 B5TL buses.

Managing Director Mikesh Palan says: “We have gone that extra mile to ensure that we are providing our customers with all the luxury and comfort needed to best enjoy their tour experiences around the UK.

“The B11R is also well-known as the best option in the market today in terms of fuel efficiency and performance and this was key in the decision made to purchase these vehicles, especially with ongoing regulatory changes in and around London.

“The build quality of Volvo vehicles is second to none and we also know that we will get the aftersales service we require from our local dealership, Volvo Truck & Bus, Hayes so once again, Volvo Bus is the perfect choice.”

Established in 1984, Golden Tours is an open-top bus and coach tour operator. It started running open-top tours in 2011 and became the preferred supplier for the Warner Bros Studio Tour in 2012.

Mr Palan adds: “For more than three decades now, Golden Tours has been providing guests from various countries across the world with luxurious travel and an unrivalled range of top-quality London tours.

“We have always been proud of our passion towards customer care and value for money and we believe the expansion of our fleet network with these new Volvos B11Rs will substantially help us strengthen this claim.”

Richard Mann, Volvo Retail Bus & Coach Sales Manager, says: “It’s great to be working with a prestigious tour operator like Golden Tours and we look forward to seeing the vehicles in service. Mikesh and his team have been loyal customers over the years, and we look forward to doing business again with them in the near future.”
