Green Destinations has become one of the first dedicated home-to-school transport operators to gain DVSA Earned Recognition status.
The Birmingham-based business, which was a finalist in the “outstanding customer experience” category at the 2023 routeone awards, was officially added to the DVSA’s list on 24 April.
The Earned Recognition scheme allows operators to demonstrate high adherence to compliance standards by sharing key driver and vehicle performance indicators with the DVSA.
Green Destinations has a fleet of wheelchair accessible minibuses and specialises in transporting school-age and special educational needs and disabilities passengers.
Jameel Malik, Green Destination Chief Executive, says: “We are delighted to gain Earned Recognition status and it’s a testament of our team’s hard work in delivering high levels of fleet compliance and providing our service users with safe transport services.
“This demonstrates our commitment to upholding high standards of road safety, safeguarding both our drivers, passenger assistants, the public, our local authority clients and our passengers.
“We are hugely proud of this achievement, which will support our wider efforts to deliver a home-to-school transport service that is polite, punctual and safe. It’s also pleasing that we have now joined a prestigious group of companies with Earned Recognition status, including John Lewis Plc, Tesco Distribution Ltd, and DHL Supply Chain Limited.”
“Gaining ER status demonstrates to our stakeholders that we’re an exemplary operator and focused on high-quality services and compliance. This is essential given that safeguarding risks are much higher with our passengers with special educational needs and disabilities.
“Our (local authority and school) clients expect a highly compliant service and one that continues to learn and improve. Earned Recognition status is also another way to galvanise our fleet team to continue to raise our game above the minimum driver and vehicle standards.”
