Johnsons Coach and Bus Travel will get its Luxury Traveller brand underway on Monday 17 May with a pair of high-specification 43-seat Irizar i8 integrals.
Commercial Director John Johnson has described the arrival of the coaches as “an exciting start of a return to normality after COVID-19. He adds: “I am delighted that after a year’s delay due to the pandemic, we can at last take delivery of these fantastic new coaches. I know that our customers will love them. They take luxury coach travel to a whole new level.”
The Luxury Traveller concept will see the use of four-star accommodation and it is a step above Johnsons’ existing Club Class product. The 14.1m tri-axle i8 integrals will be used exclusively on Luxury Traveller tours, both within the UK and – when permitted – overseas. They have enhanced leg room and other creature comforts including USB charging points and free wi-fi.
Mr Johnson has additionally thanked Irizar for its patience while storing the vehicles during the pandemic.
Johnsons will showcase the two i8 integrals to customers on Friday 14 and Saturday 15 May. The following Monday, one will depart for the Ribble Valley with 27 passengers and the other will head to Torquay with 21 customers aboard.
Each coach has an extended central servery and the i8 integrals each also come with cantrail lighting, a vacuum cleaner and a Fogmaker fire suppression system.
Power is provided by the DAF MX-13 engine rated at 483bhp driving through the ZF Traxon automated manual gearbox.
