Mandata has developed a smartphone app to improve the way that drivers capture and record daily vehicle checks, contributing to more effective maintenance planning and scheduling.
The app provides a paperless checklist that helps operators to comply with the law by enabling drivers to carry out daily vehicle inspections.
The app logs the start and finish times of checks. It records inspections that have taken less than a specified length of time to complete, and it reports any vehicles where inspections have been missed.
The results of the inspection, including photos of any issues discovered, are saved immediately online, allowing the maintenance team to be aware of defects and to plan maintenance time around the vehicle’s schedule.
Checks can be carried out on both Android and iPhone devices and the interface is user-friendly and easy to follow. Details are stored on the device, allowing them to be produced to enforcement authorities should they require even without an internet connection.
