Stagecoach-owned Megabus has launched reservable seats on its coach services that operate within England and Wales, along with cross-border routes between England and Scotland.
Around 16 seats on each coach can be reserved during the online booking process for an additional charge of as little as a £1.
They include ‘premium’ positions, such as the upper front seats on double-deck and interdeck coaches.
The move follows a trial on services between London and Norwich that the operator says proved “incredibly popular.”
Adds Megabus MD Mark Venables: “We have been astonished at how quickly the seats are snapped up and how popular the pilot has been. This is another step towards making coaches increasingly attractive, to both existing and new customers.”
