Mellor and Mistral complete rental agreement

Five of Mellor’s accessible minibus products join Mistral’s line-up thanks to the new supply deal

Mistral and Mellor are working together to offer a range of accessible minibus products from the Rochdale manufacturer to local authority (LA) customers on an exclusive rental package.

Five of Mellor’s vehicles join Mistral’s line-up as a result: The Strata in both low-floor form and to high-floor layout with a passenger lift; the Orion; the Tucana II; and the 31-seat Maxima, which is built on an Iveco Daily chassis.

Cost-effective minis

As an example of the packages on offer, the Euro 6 full low-floor Orion is available from Mistral on long- or short-term rentals from £395 per week.

Mistral Sales Director Local Authorities, Lorna Miller, recently joined the business following over three years with Mellor.

She says: “Numerous factors led to the growing demand for the hire of this type of vehicle and we are delighted to support LAs by adding the Orion to our range.

“There no longer need to be a compromise when it comes to providing the right vehicle for the people who operate and travel in these minibuses.”

Adds Mistral Group Managing Director Steve Low: “We are delighted to be working with Mellor to offer a range of products, particularly the Orion, to LAs on an exclusive rental package. We believe that there is strong demand in the market for such a versatile vehicle.”

Orion options

When supplied by Mistral, the Orion is available with either a coach or an accessible rear, the latter with an extendable wheelchair ramp. It has, says Mistral, become the most popular minibus product among LAs. Mellor MD John Randerson adds that the manufacturer – which is part of the Woodall Nicholson group – hopes to enjoy a long and strong relationship with Mistral.

Mistral was established in 1992. It works with many manufacturers in the full-size coach and bus segments and it has vehicles in operation from the Shetland Isles to the south coast.
