The boss of Brighton and Hove and Metrobus, Managing Director Martin Harris, last week urged people not to gather in large numbers during pride weekend, instead directing people to a three-day digital festival called ‘We are Fabuloso’.
The event was streamed from a purpose-build studio in Brighton and was intended to avoid people gathering at unofficial events over the Pride weekend.
It included archive footage from Nile Rogers and Chic, Fatboy Slim, Years and Years and the House Gospel Choir in addition to cabaret, comedy and politics.
Reminding passengers to wear face coverings on public transport unless exempt, Martin said: “There are no official Pride events this summer, but please support Pride organisers and help raise essential funds for LGBTQ+ community group by streaming it live at home instead.”
