Mortons Travel – based in Little London, North Hampshire – has held a ‘Step Entrance Bus Running Day’ on its tadRed TR1 service to mark the end of step entrance buses in normal stage carriage service in the UK.
All proceeds from the day were donated to Mortons’ chosen charity, St Michaels Hospice in North Hampshire.
General Manager, Nick Morton, says: “It’s terrific that we were able to raise this amount of money and to be able to give something back to the community.
“Everyone who helped to make the day such a success, be it driving a bus, or helping to sell programmes, gave up their own time.”
