Minibus supplier PHVC has placed an order for 20 accessible Iveco Daily Lines thanks to “strong confidence” in the model’s appeal to operators from the local authority and community transport sectors.
PHVC has already purchased one Daily Line minibus to act as a demonstrator.
It has 22 seats and is built on the 6,500kg GVW chassis that comes with the 180bhp F1C engine coupled to an eight-speed Hi-Matic automatic gearbox. The wheelbase is 4,100mm.
Says MD Paul Huxford: “Iveco Bus lent us a Daily panel van with the Hi-Matic gearbox to test out. It was sublime.
“Another reason why we chose Iveco is the Daily Line’s GVW, which makes it very sturdy. With that and the Hi-Matic, it shows that Iveco is a major player in the minibus sector. We are enthusiastic about the new partnership and we are confident that we will enjoy a long relationship.”
PHVC is one of the largest vehicle suppliers to the education sector in the UK. Mr Huxford adds that in the future, he expects Iveco’s compressed natural gas option to become increasingly popular, which was another reason for choosing the Italian manufacturer.
