Pelican EV Automotive Training is providing funded skills bootcamp training for coach, bus and HGV through the West Yorkshire Combined Authority.
Delivered from Pelican’s training centre in Castleford, the training will enable technicians and employers from across that region to access nationally recognised qualifications from the Institute of the Motor Industry and will focus on high-voltage systems for coaches, buses and trucks.
The qualifications include the IMI Level 3 Award in Heavy Electric/Hybrid Vehicle System Repair and Replacement and IMI Level 4 Award in the Diagnosis, Testing and Repair of Electric/Hybrid Vehicles and Components.
Pelican says the bootcamp covers 60 hours of structured training and delivers “job-ready skills aligned to regional workforce demands”.
The limited number of spaces available are open to individuals and employers in West Yorkshire.
Matt Cumming, Training Manager at Pelican EV Automotive Training, says: “We’re proud to offer funded access to IMI Level 3 and 4 qualifications as part of the Skills Bootcamp programme.
“With the rise of high-voltage commercial vehicles, there is a critical need to ensure technicians are equipped with the right knowledge, practical skills, and safety procedures to work on these systems.
“This programme supports both individual development and wider fleet readiness.”
