Reading Buses and tech company MiX Telematics have been jointly shortlisted for a fleet safety partnership award at the 2021 UK Fleet Champions Awards.
The category for which the six-year partnership is being nominated recognises partnerships that deliver “outstanding results” to improving fleet safety.
It comes after the company noted a 30% improvement in driver safety score in nine months, as well as a 50% reduction in non-fault collisions, and a 35% increase in the number of green score drivers who have very-few-to-zero safety events recorded in eight months.
For Robert Williams, CEO of Reading Buses, the shortlist demonstrates to customers that Reading Buses is a safe way to travel. “We have improved our already impressive safety record with better driver safety, reduced non-fault collisions and increased the number of green score drivers who have very-few-to-zero safety events on the MiX system,” he adds. “To be shortlisted with large companies such as Fleetmaster/British Gas and Jacobs/ADT is an amazing recognition.”
Reading Buses and MiX Telematics recently introduced Power BI dashboard, which better looks at road-risk results and employee management.
Adds Richard Adams, Sales Director at MiX Telematics Europe: “We have been working in close partnership for over six years, successfully focussing on reducing road risk and increased passenger comfort. It is always a delight working with Laurence Jenkins and the rest of the Reading Buses team who have a very forward-thinking attitude to ongoing safety and business improvements.”
Winners will be announced in an online ceremony on 23 September.
