Senior Traffic Commissioner Richard Turfitt has been added to the line-up of speakers at the UK Bus and Coach Conference. The online event will be staged by the Confederation of Passenger Transport (CPT) on 12 and 13 January 2021.
Mr Turfitt will deliver a keynote address on the second day of the conference. He will refer to work undertaken to support the coach and bus industry during the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic, including advice and statutory guidance on the approach to regulation over that period.
Mr Turfitt will also give insight into emerging lessons and how they may be used to support essential services going forward.
Says CPT Member and Membership Services Director Chris Nice: “It is great to have such a high-profile speaker alongside a programme packed with presentations and debate from coach and bus industry experts.
“Richard’s address will no doubt provide all attending with insight into the hard and crucial work of the Traffic Commissioners during the pandemic and their plans moving forward. We look forward to hearing from him and the UK Bus and Coach Conference.”
Mr Turfitt joins an existing programme that incorporates many other respected industry names, including CPT President-elect Jane Cole. Transport Minister Baroness Vere will deliver the keynote address on the first day of the conference.
Another recent addition to the line-up is European Tour Operators Association CEO Tom Jenkins. He will give a closer look at how the UK’s European counterparts are managing against a backdrop of coronavirus COVID-19 and their plans for recovery.
The full speaker line-up can be found here. Attendance at the Conference is free for all CPT members.
