Skills Motor Coaches has ordered six 85-seat Enviro400 double-deck buses from Alexander Dennis.
They will support contract work delivered by the Nottingham operator and represent the business’s first order with Alexander Dennis since 2017. The manufacturer says that the buses will be reliable additions to the Skills fleet as well as being versatile vehicles “that will work across the business.”
An order for double-deck buses follows strong investment in the Skills coach fleet in recent years.
Speaking about the deal, Skills Motor Coaches Managing Director Pete Hallam says: “Building on the success of our 2017 purchase of Alexander Dennis vehicles, which have consistently delivered outstanding reliability and low maintenance costs, we are delighted to expand our fleet with six new Enviro400 double-deck buses.
“These vehicles have been highly regarded by both our passengers and our team for their comfort, performance, and operational efficiency.
“This latest investment reaffirms our commitment to delivering exceptional standards across our premium contracts. I would like to thank [Regional Sales Manager] Simon Wood and the Alexander Dennis team for their exceptional support throughout this process, and we look forward to introducing these new buses to our fleet and customers.”
Adds Mr Wood: “I am really pleased to have been able to assist Pete and the rest of the Skills team with ordering six of our Enviro400 double-deck buses. We look forward to supporting these vehicles throughout their operational lives with our comprehensive AD24 aftermarket support.”
