Stagecoach East Scotland adds six buses to airport service

Stagecoach East Scotland has introduced six new luxury buses into its fleet to operate on the Fife to Edinburgh Airport service.

All six will operate on the JET747 route, which links the East of Scotland with Edinburgh Airport – and stops at Halbeath park and ride, Inverkeithing rail station and Ferrytoll park and ride.

Stagecoach has invested £1m into the new buses, which now provide more seats and more luggage space following customer feedback.

The operator increased the journey frequency on the route back in April this year, allowing customers to travel to Edinburgh Airport up to every 20 minutes from Fife, to cater for increased demand for the route.

Paul Thomas, Managing Director, Stagecoach East Scotland says: "I'm delighted to welcome these six new buses into our East Scotland fleet, especially on our ever busy Edinburgh Airport route.

“These buses allow customers easy, hassle free transport to Edinburgh Airport, leaving the car behind they set off on their holidays, with passengers dropped off right outside the terminal building."

The new buses have a range of modern features including leather seats, USB power sockets, air-conditioning, free wi-fi access, a large luggage hold and extra spacing between seating rows to allow smaller bags and cases to be placed in front of the passenger's seat.
