Stagecoach North Scotland celebrated the first day of its newly launched Aberdeen City Council supported bus route for Kingswells by giving away £1,000 of bus tickets to local residents.
Service 14 will operate from Monday-Saturday every 30-minutes, and will connect Kingswells village to ARI before serving Upperkirkgate.
The buses have free wi-fi and contactless payments, as well as the latest tracking software, allowing customers to see exactly when their bus will arrive through the Stagecoach app.
Mark Whitelocks, Managing Director for Stagecoach North Scotland says: "We are delighted to be working with Aberdeen City Council to expand our network to new areas in Aberdeen and hope many Kingswells residents will try the bus using the free travel we've distributed.
“The service 14 timetable gives many options for commuting, connecting to ARI or an evening out in town and with our great value tickets available in Aberdeen it's never been easier to visit the city by bus."
Aberdeen City Council transport and regeneration spokesman Councillor Ross Grant says: “We are committed to doing all we can to ensure that our communities and residents at risk of isolation remain connected.
“We know how vital good public transport links are to our residents and after carrying out research, we found there were gaps in provision so we were happy to step in a provide services for these communities.”
